The Festival

The Festival

Yesterday I attended my first vendor event - a local food and wine festival.
Newbie me thought surely people would think of the women in their lives who crochet or knit and I’d sell all my yarn. Turns out, most people didn’t even realize people still knit and crochet. Needless to say, I didn't have many sales. I did, however, get to spend the day promoting my brand and crochet, in particular. I interviewed with a local station and had an interview with the promoter, who was particularly intrigued at the apparent resurgence of yarn arts. I left the festival with a million ideas on how to move forward and have spent most of today resting and sorting them all out.

I think my biggest takeaway from yesterday is KNOW YOUR CROWD. Even more important than knowing your target market. I suppose I thought my target market would still like to hang out at wine festivals. This is only the beginning, and in the beginning, we’re liable to stumble. The key is to use those stumbling blocks to learn, improve, and grow. So expect to see a whole lot more of me on your newsfeeds and in the streets.

I’m ready for my next event!
